I am from the new IHM generation. As you know we will be going to Maastricht in January, and we are strating to look for accomodation, but we've realised that it's quite complicated!!

Does anyone know any website? or has an apparmtment/room to rent for 3 months?

You could try contacting Jogien, coordinator from Maastricht School, and checking the alumni website for useful links.

Just go to "Other" - "Moving?" - "Maastricht", and you will see some links, which might be helpful.

Thank you Tima, this was very useful...I think we are not familiar with the Alumni website yet, I dind't know that it had so much info. We'll try to find something in those links...and I hope to be lucky because it's being really difficult to find a place there!

Finding accommodation in Maastricht is definitely easier than in Barcelona, should be doable. It will take some time and phone calls, of course.

I stayed at Teikyo campus, a medical centre/university, one building of which is turned into a students house. Good price, lots of nice people, great atmosphere. Don't expect fancy rooms, but quite nice for 3 months... Jogien Wilms was very helpful in booking it.

It is a good option to look at the Kamernet, there are a few really good rooms available at the moment, for the exact time you are spending in Maastricht.

I have been in contact with Esther regarding any questions you have about housing. As you know by now from Zuyd University we can offer rooms at Teikyo Campus. I have received some info about the rooms as Teikyo's webpage is out of the air for some weeks already.

The residential and postal address for Teikyo BV is Brouwersweg 100, 6216 EG Maastricht

Rent: 300 euro per month all in

Internet: Rooms are equipped with wireless internet (included in the price) You can also use the computer lab for an additional fee

Deposit: 300 euro refundable on departure

Type room:The room contains one single bed. You will be provided with a duvet, pillow and sheets.
Clean linen is provided every week.
Other furniture includes a small TV, small fridge, wardrobe, reading table and lamp, and a chair

Washrooms: Shared

Toilets: Some rooms have private toilets

Laundry: Shared. Tokens for operating the washing machine are sold at the reception. You need 4 euro per wash. Drying is free

Kitchen: Shared

There is a common lounge area where you can interact with other residents on each floor and on the ground floor by the reception.

You are responsible for cleaning your own room but the common areas are cleaned regularly.

There are several facilities for sport and recreation. The residence is located within walking distance of a shopping centre.

Teikyo is located on a regular bus route with busses to and from the city. There is only 1 bus No. 17 which connects to the Hotel School from Maastricht Central Station.
You may wish to purchase a 2nd hand bicycle for about 30 – 60 euro. If you require a bicycle you can inform me at t.e.nkhata@hogeschoolzuyd.nl

Your bicycles can be parked in the bicycle shed.

There are some sport facilities, a car park and good bus network to and from the central station and the city. The reception at Teikyo is open 24hrs a day, but student are advised to check in before 18.00hrs.

Avant Garde student residences
In the attachment you can find another option besides Teikyo. - I cannot upload the attachment to this forum as it is in pdf format and if I put it in Word the size it too large , I will send it to your mail addresses - The Avant Garde student residences in Maastricht. The information on Avant Garde is not completely up to date. We are expecting a new brochure shortly. The rent is 295 euros all in. The deposit is 402 euros payable in 2 instalments and refundable with 2% interest on departure. Internet facility will be paid by Zuyd University.
This option is also offered by Ms. Nkhata. there are more rooms available at Teikyo so if you prefer this option please respond to Ms. Nkhata as soon as possible.
