As we are talking about holidays and parties; let's add another one.

In Holland we celebrate Sinterklaas actually for the (young) children. On the fifth of December they get presents and sweets from Sinterklaas and Zwarte Piet who come to Holland with their boot out of Spain.

Maybe it is a nice idea to celebrate Sinterklaas with the whole class. We will pull little papers with everybody's name on it and buy a present and make a poem for the one who is presented on the paper. You need to buy and write something that suits to the persons hobbies, personality, actions etc.

Hey Dirje, that's a good idea, and we could continue with Nikolaus, which I think is basically the same celebration like the one you have in Holland but it is one day later, thus on 6th of December.
Actually I have already bought some German Lebkuchen in LIDLE and soon I will start to cook some Plätzchen like Vanille Kipferln... MMMMMMMM... I am getting hungy!

Maybe we could bake some Pepernoten!!! ... and spread some Dutch Culture in Sant Ignasi

This is my first contribution in the forum so I don't know if I'm doing it correctly but referring again to the Sinterklaas topic, I'm very interested in promoting that in the class and it's a good idea because the majority of you are dutch and because we can learn new things about your fests. So any help you need to organise just tell me.

In Spain some people celebrate in those dates "el amigo invisible" that is the "invisible friend". It's more or less what Dirje has said.

That´s in fact a great idea, except for the poems... my art in poems is not that spectacular, more a disaster. so I prefer to get some help of some poem professionals.

Im not that bad with writing rhyms Sven....but there is a charge...you have to cook your nice pasta again!

Very good idea, I was recently thinking about missing this nice celebration in december! But if we can celebrate it together.....great!

hey!!that's a great idea!i've always celebrated "Nicolaus" (which is the same as Sinterklaas but in Germany) at home, so I agree that we do it with our classmates.a little happy event before exams will not be bad...

Paus, I will prepare a very culinair dinner for you (may be with Sven), when you write my poem as well....help!

Wow all this winter celebrations are in my mind and my feelings somehow connected to cold weather, but as everyone is so cheerfull about all the Sinterklaas and Nikolaus activity I think we should plan a baking activity which we can maybe do at school if the kitchen which we used for our ice breaking activity has some availability... Then we can all get the christmasy feeling... I will check if thats an option and let you guys know if you are interested...

this is a very good idea katrin!but I don't know if the kitchen will be free!because the clases of restauracion and hostelería are always using it!perhaps in exams it will be free!better to ask for it this week to see the availability.

Biscuits...jammie!!! We defenitly have to find a nice place where we can bake home made biscuits !
Next week we have to organize the sinterklaas activity and maybe some of us can make some pepernoten as well.

If you really need an oben some of us we can meet in my house to cook them there. I want to learn the receip! But the only thing is that my house is a little bit far from Barcelona...

We can also do it at my place, enough space for everybody and as well an oven! So 5th of december, celebration of Sinterklaas! what do you say!
