Hello all,

Could someone help me by informing me, how I should connect a discussion thread to my uploaded research subject?!

And, why don't I see my topic online?

HOPE to hear from you very soon .

Regards,

Where were you expecting to see your topic online?
Did you attempt to submit a new news item with your topic? or did you submit your topic in the forum?

Please explain.

To connect anything to a discussion thread you just insert a link to that discussion thread. So for example if you have submitted a news item you just highlight the text that you want to link and then click the link icon from the tool bar in the editor.

If you like to make a link from within one discussion thread to another you again select the text to link and then click the 'URL' button.
This will then insert something like this around your selected text
{URL}selected text{/URL}
all you need to do then is insert a '=' followed by the address of the discussion thread behind the first URL so it looks like this
{URL=www.alumnitsi.net/x}selected text{/URL}

To get the URL (address) of the discussion thread you browse to it and then copy it from the address bar in your browser.

If anything still is unclear or if I can help more please let me know by responding

Hello Bart-Jan,

Yes well, I foud my topic late last night.
I found it in the "IHM Research" link. But I want it to be on the discussion forum. Should I just start a new thread in the discussion forum and erase my other submitted document?

Regards,

Robert

Hi Robert

The discussion forum is there to discuss things. The news on this website is more to communicate one way, to share with others.

However sometimes it is good to combine the two.
I did this with the Assignment. In the news item in our virtual classroom, I created a link for you all to be able to discuss it.

Check for yourself by clicking here and notice the link at the bottom to the discussion thread I had set up.

hope this helps.
