I followed the instruction on how to insert a YouTube video exactly! …. I even did it several times … But when I copied the address of the YouTube video and saved the article something changed.

Instead of seeing the video inserted it seems like I inserted an image…. Very STRANGE because I clicked the “insert a VIDEO link” and not the “insert an image link”.

Has anybody seen this before or can somebody help me with this?

Silvia thank you for posting this question in the forum because I think many people will benefit. (I know for example that Bernat and Xavi were having problems with this as well)

The problem is related to the address for YouTube. It is different in different parts of the world even though you can see all the videos any where in the world…

In Spain the address for YouTube is not www.youtube.com no there it is es.youtube.com
I remember a slogan from the Spanish tourism office that “Spain is different” but that has nothing to do with this… For some reason many companies create different web addresses in different countries.

Because the address that you used starts different then www.youtube.com it does not recognize that this is the address of youtube videos.

But because every video on YouTube is available everywhere in the world (some exceptions..) you can also get that same video from the www.youtube.com address.

So instead of using use

If you use that address it works perfectly.


Note the same is true for other countries! So when inserting YouTube Videos just use the www.youtube.com address
